Sorry (to those who like to read my words) that it’s been a while since my last post and happy birthday to my best friend Megan! This past couple weeks has been amazing! My roommates are amazing. My house is amazing. My friends -old and new- are amazing. Overall, It’s been so fun. And long story short, I’ve been busy. So this post is to update you on certain little “wisdom” bits that I’ve picked up whether they make ANY sort of sense or not. I guess I shouldn’t call it wisdom-ful so much as I would say little jolts of energy that I’ve formulated into thoughts if that makes any sense. So a conglomeration of stuff follows. Read on if you are a curious case.
thought- “Are humans the only animals who can recognize themselves in the mirror?”
thought-” time is non-existent. It is an illusion because we’re rotating around the sun. One Earth rotation is equal to one day in the life of the Earth. Every dimension of “time” revolution around the sun is a different dimension. Think of all the stars who are “suns” to other planets, other galaxies, universes so far out we can’t conceivably imagine it. It’s beautiful and freeing.”
My English professor, “Technology improves when people want to kill each other.”
Quotes from Victorian Literature that I absolutely love
“Everybody has their own definition of reality.”
“I don’t know what it is about the night that makes us think. When we lose the stimulation of the day, the mind is left to examine itself.”
“Nobody makes generalizations about life unless they mean to talk about themselves.”
“We shall all be ‘was’ one day”
A quote from the book I’m currently reading (Brave New World):
“Actual happiness always looks pretty squalid in comparison with the overcompensations for misery. And, of course, stability isn’t nearly so spectacular as instability. And being contented has none of the glamour of a good fight against misfortune, none of the picturesqueness of a struggle with temptation, or a fatal overthrow by passion or doubt. Happiness is never grand.”
Me:
Today was my first day of classes for my Fall semester at the U of A and it was a good day-minus the heat. I had Topics in American Literature, Metaphysics, and Nutrition classes today. The first two that I mentioned were terrific. Unfortunately, the severe budget cuts my University has allowed for a fire hazard in my Nutrition class. I think there were around 20 students sitting on the ground because of the over enrollment. It’s such a shame. Anyway, so this cluster of randomness is my post for August 23rd, 2010. This day also happens to be my best friends birthday, so Happy Birthday Megan! I love you. I’ll post some more concrete wordage at a different venture.
Love you all.
